When we choose to support ethical + sustainable products, we help create a more compassionate world

Unlike hair extensions dipped in chemical/acids, our natural, sustainable extensions can be susceptible to slightly more tangles and shedding, which is due to the cuticles not always being perfectly aligned. This is based on the hair strands being collected from brushes rather than being cut/shaved off of a woman's head.

Keeping the hair properly moisturised and lightly detangling the hair daily ensures the longevity of your extensions. Below are tips to maintain your hair extensions and enjoy your strands of beauty.

Do's + Dont's

Do not cut the weft

Do not cut the weft as this leads to extensive shedding and if you opt to do so, be sure to seal the weft afterwards (We use a mild glue mixed with tree sap to bond the weft, therefore, we allow the consumer to decide how strong they would like their weft glue to be)

Do not comb

Do not comb wavy/curly hair while dry (unless it is to prep for washing)

Do not use heavy or excessive oils

Do not use heavy or excessive oils, it will weigh the hair down

Do wash hair before use

Do ensure that you shampoo and condition your hair extensions prior to the installation process.

Do moisturise the hair extensions

Do moisturise the hair extensions daily (light leave-in conditioner) and wash/condition once a week

Do protect your hair

Do protect your hair extensions with silk scarf at night

Do deep condition your hair

Do deep condition your hair extensions once a week

Do use a wide tooth comb

Do use a wide tooth comb for wavy/curly extensions

Please note

Bleaching the extensions may lead to excessive tangling //  silicone conditioner has been applied to the hair extensions after the production to prevent excessive drying while in storage and during shipment - we highly recommend washing the hair extensions prior to installation // due to the nature of the hair extensions (i.e. inability to collect sebum from a scalp) the utilisation of silicone based products is highly recommended

Weft structure

Tree sap glue

In order to keep the product as natural as possible we have used predominantly tree sap glue to seal the weft. Therefore, the strength may not be as strong as you would prefer. Essentially we leave the decision of weft strength up to you and encourage you to either wear the hair extensions as is or use your favourite weft glue to seal your weft.

Body wave

Washing

Lightly detangle the hair extensions before washing (start from the end and work your way upwards)

Rinse the hair in warm water

Massage your favourite shampoo in the direction of the hair texture (downwards) - do not scrub or roughly handle the hair extensions as it leads to excessive tangling. Afterwards, rinse the hair with warm water

Apply a moisturising conditioner and lightly finger comb and detangle the hair

Allow the conditioner to sit for 15 - 20 minutes

Afterwards rinse the out the conditioner with warm water (in the direction of the hair texture) and apply a small serving of your oil to seal the hair

Allow the hair to naturally air dry and avoid using a hair dryer as much as possible as it can dry out the hair and reduces the longevity of the extensions

Daily maintenance

Use a Denman brush to lightly detangle your hair (start from the end and work your way upwards)

Moisturise every other day or once a week with a leave-in conditioner (depending on how the hair is holding up, feel free to use curl activator or mousse to enhance curl pattern and prevent frizzing - please note this is human hair, so each bundle behaves differently)

When necessary, use a light serum/oil to give your hair extra shine

Washing

Use a spray bottle mixed with coconut oil and warm water to dampen the hair extensions

Lightly detangle the hair extensions with a wide tooth comb before washing (start from the end and work your way upwards)

Afterwards rinse the out the conditioner with warm water (in the direction of the hair texture) and separate the hair into small sections and use a wide tooth comb on each section.

Proceed with spraying a leave-in conditioner or curl activator solution on your hair (be sure to not use too much product on the hair)

Afterwards shake the damp hair back and forth to create the curls

Allow the hair to naturally hair dry, avoid using a hair dryer as much as possible as it can dry out the hair and reduces the longevity of the extensions. If you decide to use heat to dry the hair, try using a diffuser set on low heat, as it will allow your curls to take form.

 Daily maintenance

Lightly spray the hair with your leave-in conditioner to maintain moisture (feel free to use curl activator or mousse to enhance curl pattern and prevent frizzing - note that with human hair, each bundle behaves differently)

Opt for finger combing to detangling your hair as often as possible. Using a wide tooth comb is also recommended (using a bristle brush will increase frizz and change the texture of the hair)

When necessary, use a light serum/oil to give your hair extra shine

Gentle reminder

Each bundle is unique, just like every person on this earth, so although we are providing recommendations, we highly encourage you to find the hair care process that is most suitable for your extensions.
